The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has blocked all payments for subscribing to the popular streaming service ZEE5 and all other Indian content in Pakistan from November 13th, 2020.
According to a notification issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), a letter was received from the Cabinet Division, Government of Pakistan with instructions to block all modes of payments for subscribing to Indian conten in Pakistan including the online video-on-demand service ZEE5.
Therefore, all banks across the country have been instructed to comply with these orders by November 13th, 2020 and make sure that payments for all Indian content are blocked.

The development comes just weeks after the controversy surrounding the Pakistani web-series on ZEE5 titled ‘Churails’ for the inappropriate language used in the online drama.
‘Pakistani web-series Churails’ ended up being removed from ZEE5 for the Pakistani region but was later restored on the platform with PTA issuing a statement that they had nothing to do with the matter.
