The Office of the District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory, has officially announced the closure of all public and private schools within the Islamabad Capital Territory on Thursday, 22nd August 2024.
The decision is part of precautionary measures taken by the authorities, and the notification has been distributed to relevant departments for strict compliance.
The notification, issued by District Magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon, PAS, emphasizes the importance of adhering to this directive and has been circulated to key officials including the Chief Commissioner, Inspector General of Police, and the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA). Additionally, the Principal Information Officer, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and the Director (Operations), PEMRA, have been tasked with ensuring the order is broadcasted on all news channels and published in all daily newspapers.
The Federal Directorate of Education has also been requested to ensure compliance with this order in all educational institutions under its jurisdiction.
The decision comes amid heightened security concerns in the region, and residents are advised to stay informed through official channels.
