Public and private schools in Punjab will be reopening in several districts with a low COVID-19 positivity ratio, said the Provincial Education Minister Dr Murad Raas while sharing the notification regarding the decision on Twitter.
“Public & Private Schools of Punjab in the following Districts will open for 4 days a week.” he said. “Schools will be allowed to call students on alternate days with 50% attendance starting Monday May 24, 2021.”
However, the reopening of schools in remaining districts will be decided in the next meeting.
Schools in Punjab will be reopening in the following districts:
- Chakwal
- Chiniot
- Hafizabad
- Jhang
- Jhelum
- Kasur
- Mandi Bahuddin
- Narowal
- Pakpattan
- Rajanpur
- Sheikhupura
- Sialkot
- Vehari
Furthermore, the notification stated that concerned authorities need to enforce observance and compliance of COVID-19 SOPs.
