Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that he has sent the five-year Hijri Calendar to the Islamic Ideology Council.
The Calendar will be presented before the cabinet on Wednesday.
The Moonsighting.pk website replaces Ruet-t-Hilal Committee in the country which was highly controversial as in some parts of the country Eid was celebrated a day before.
The Hijri Calendar was prepared to keep in view the scientific requirements to deal with the discord every year over the Ramzan and Shawal moon sighting.
This website will help to resolve the long standing issue.
