The security has been tightened in Islamabad on Sunday as the capital has been placed on high alert due to rising tensions in the country amid the TLP protests and clashes with law enforcement.
According to DIG Operations Islamabad, the security has been beefed up in the capital with heavy contingents of law enforcement officials deployed at all entry / exit points and important installations of Islamabad.
“All possible steps will be taken for maintenance of law and order situation in the city.” said DIG Operations Islamabad while tweeting regarding the security situation in the capital.

The situation was especially worse in Lahore as TLP workers clashed with police officials at Yateem Khana Chown, where the Jamia Masjid Rehmatul-Lil Alameen is located.
According to details, the TLP workers attacked the Nawankot Police Station and kidnapped the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and attacked other policemen, including rangers with petrol bombs.

However, there were reportedly two TLP supporters killed as a result of the clash between the two sides.
Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman has also called for a nationwide strike on Monday (19 April 2021) and this has been endorsed by JUIF Chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.
