In another tragic incident to take place today, at least 40 people have died and more than 80 have been injured in a suicide blast at a mosque in Balochistan’s Mastung.
According to the details, Mastung’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nawaz Gashkori, was among the victims who lost their lives in the suicide blast.
The police have confirmed that it was a ‘suicide blast’ and the bomber blew himself up next to the DSP Gashkori’s car.
Meanwhile, an emergency has been declared at all the hospitals in the area and rescue teams are working to help the victims.
The injured have been moved to nearby hospitals.
Soon after the blast, the security forces cordoned off the area and started collecting evidence from the crime scene.
Balochistan’s interim Information Minister, Jan Achakzai, stated that critically injured individuals were being transferred to Quetta for treatment.
Interim Chief Minister, Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, has strongly condemned the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter, and expressed his grief at the loss of lives.
This was one of the two attacks to hit Pakistan today as at least 4 people have died and several injured in a suicide blast at a mosque in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu District.
