QUETTA: Social activist and Journalist from Gwadar Shaheena Shaheen Baloch was shot dead in Balochistan’s Turbat area by unidentified men on Saturday according to police.
According to details, Shaheena Shaheen Baloch was brought to the hospital after being shot twice. The person who brought her in could not be identified identified at the time and fled after dropping off her body.

An investigation has been launched into the incident and Balochistan spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani termed the incident as “extremely unfortunate” further stating that the body of the TV anchor was released to her uncle.
Case number 174/2020 was registered at Turbat Police Station under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code against Mehrab Gochki, the husband of Shaheena Shaheen Baloch who reportedly fled after the his wife was murdered.
Accoriding to Liaquat Shahwani, the victim’s mother reached Turbat soon after and wanted to register a case against the murderer. The police are fully cooperating with the family.
Shaheena Shaheen Baloch was a morning show host for PTV Bolan and also the editor for a Balochi magazine titled Dazgohar. The deceased was also an artist and an activist who fought for gender equality and women’s empowerment in Balochistan.
Soon the the incident went viral on social media, Twitter started trending with hashtag #JusticeForShaheenaBaloch and #JusticeForShaheena with people expressing their grief and demanding justice for the Shaheena Shaheen Baloch.
