The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia declared that the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted on Monday evening, which means Tuesday will be the final day of Ramadan. Eid Al-Fitr celebrations in Saudi Arabia will begin on Wednesday, April 10.
Eid Al-Fitr Prayers
Eid Al-Fitr prayers will be held across the Kingdom on Wednesday shortly after sunrise. The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Asheikh, directed that Eid prayers should take place 15 minutes after sunrise according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar.
In a circular, the minister emphasized the importance of early preparations for Eid prayers in designated prayer grounds and mosques, ensuring all necessary services are in place for worshippers’ comfort.
People in Saudi Arabia eagerly anticipate Eid Al-Fitr, a joyful occasion marked by gatherings, feasts, gift exchanges, and sweet treats. Families and friends come together to celebrate and share in the joyous moments.
Earlier, the Supreme Court called upon Muslims to sight the Shawwal crescent moon on Monday evening, Ramadan 29, but it was not sighted. Ramadan began on March 11 in Saudi Arabia and most other countries.
Eid Al-Fitr spans the first five days of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic Hijri calendar, and is celebrated joyously by Muslims worldwide.
