Addressing a press conference on Tuesday in connection with the removal of Sindh Inspector General Police (IGP) AD Khowaja’s from office, the minister said that they have written to the federal government regarding the matter. So far, there has been no response. And neither has the IG been deprived of any power.
Siyal reiterated that the provincial government was implementing all orders sent by the Sindh High Court (SHC), however, the court did not show the complete picture of the matter.
“I do not have the authority for transfers of police officials,” said the minister.
Speaking about knife attacks in Karachi, Siyal said the police did not book any innocent person in the case.
The arrested suspect, Shahzad, was granted bail by the anti-terrorism unit a few days ago. No evidence was found against the detained suspect.
A number of directives had been given to the police to curb the cities street crime, Siyal concluded.
