SIALKOT INCIDENT: A Sri Lankan citizen was beaten to death in a Sialkot factory as hundreds of people (factory workers) attacked the foreign national over blasphemy allegations on Friday.
According to the police, the incident took place on Wazirabad Road in Sialkot, where the Sri Lankan, who was a manager at a private factory (RAJCO), was beaten to death by the factory workers.
Furthermore, the employees of the factory also vandalized the premises and blocked all of the traffic in a protest. However, the police reached the scene of the incident as soon as it was reported and tried to control the situation.
The police was able to disperse the mob after successful talks and the matter is currently being investigated by the authorities.
CM Punjab Takes Notice of Sialkot Incident
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the Sialkot incident and directed the police to submit an inquiry report over the matter . “I am extremely shocked at the horrific Sialkot incident.” said CM Punjab on Twitter. “I have instructed IG Police to thoroughly investigate it.”
“No one is allowed to take law in their hands.” added CM Buzdar. “Rest assured, individuals involved in this inhumane act will not be spared.” he said on Twitter.
