The incident in NA-232, a constituency of the national assembly in Karachi, where armed individuals reportedly affiliated with a political party snatched ballot papers, has garnered the attention of the Election Commissioner of Sindh.
The Presiding Officer of Korangi NA-232, Abdul Wajid, expressed concern over the audacious act in a widely circulated video statement on social media. He detailed a distressing encounter with a group of approximately 20 to 25 armed individuals on motorcycles just hours before the general elections, during which the ballot papers were forcibly taken.
In response to the incident, the Election Commissioner of Sindh has instructed the Returning Officer and District Monitoring Officer to provide a comprehensive report on the matter. Additionally, to ensure the security of the polling station, the spokesperson mentioned the deployment of extra police and Rangers personnel.
