SINDH: The Sindh Government has imposed complete ban on pillion riding on 20 October through out the province of Sindh.
The complete ban on pillion riding will be observed on account of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA).
The eve of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) will be observed on 20th Safar, 1441 A.H, which is falling on 20th October 2019.
The Chehlum is observed through out the country with complete religious sentiments.
Keeping in view the prevailing law and order situation, the Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad has expressed the need of fool proof security arrangements.
The notification issued by the Home Department states, the Senior Superintendent Hyderabad has reported that information has been received from reliable sources that some terrorist/ anti-state elements are planning to carry out sabotage / terrorist activities during chehlum to cause unrest among different ethnic / religious groups and disturb peace and tranquility of the District.

The complete ban will be imposed under Section 144 Cr.PC on the following activities on the day of Chehlum.
- Pillion Riding
- Carrying / display of arms / fire arms, lathies, hatches, explosive material / crackers, political /religious slogans and posters
- Playing / possessing of audio video containing provocative speeches and initiating sectarian hatred.
- Assembling of five or more persons except Chehlum, Tazia/Majalis
- New processions/jalsas/majalis without permission of the concerned authorities.
Pillion Riding Ban Notification
The notification further states, all permission issued by the Home Department, Sindh to carry weapon in relaxation of ban u/s 144 Cr.CP will remain suspended during the above said ban period throughout the Province of Sindh.
