KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has decided to introduce a new system for delivering vehicle number plates directly to people’s homes.
At a meeting chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, several initiatives were discussed. Among these were plans to establish a motor registration office in Karachi’s south district, which will also operate in the evenings to accommodate more people.
Additionally, a special office will be set up by the Excise Department for issuing premium number plates. Minister Memon highlighted the success of the first phase of premium number plates, which received positive feedback from the public. He announced that the second phase of the premium number plate auction will commence soon.
Minister Memon emphasized the need to simplify the vehicle registration process, aiming to run the excise department in a more corporate manner.
It is worth noting that just a few days ago, Pakistan held its first auction of special vehicle number plates, with the highest bid reaching Rs 100 million.
