Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, has urged Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, in a letter, to introduce the teachings of the Holy Quran with translation as compulsory subject in educational institutions across the province.
In the letter, the Governor wrote, “Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed us with the Holy Quran which has been revealed for our guidance. Its understanding and observation will pave the way for our salvation on the Day of Judgment.”
He said that Holy Quran’s teachings alongside general education will help children to differentiate between right and wrong. The letter urged the Chief Minister to introduce the Holy Quran as a compulsory subject in educational institutions along with translation across Sindh.
The Governor added that Punjab Education Department and the Federal Ministry of Education has already introduced such a system in educational institutions. He added that such system should be started at the primary level with Nazra and Tajwid teaching, with same being made at the secondary and higher secondary levels.
He added that Holy Quran’s teachings would add more value to the education system and for this purpose orders must be issued to the relevant instutions.
