KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has announced public holiday on 24th October 2018 (14th Safar 1440 (A.H) on account of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai annual Urs.
Notification dated 22nd October 2018, to the above effect has been issued, according to which, Sindh government offices, schools, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions will remain closed on Friday 24th October 2018 (14th Safar 1440 (A.H) all across the Sindh Province.

The three-day Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai is celebrated annually in Bhitshah town of Matiari district. On the occasion, thousands of devotees of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai turn up to pay their respects to the great Sufi saint and poet of Sindh.
On this occasion, the small town along the National Highway around 50 Kilometers offNational Highway is visited by thousands of devotees of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
The Urs celebration last for three days that features music, prayers, cattle shows, exhibition, literary events, and sports.
Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai’s Urs of 2017 was officially inaugurated by Sindh’s acting governor Agha Siraj Durrani by offering fateha and laying a chaddar at the shrine.
