Sindh’s Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, held a press conference.
He announced that the central commemoration ceremony for the death anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto would be held with reverence and respect at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.

Addressing the tragic boat incident in Greece, Minister Sharjeel Memon expressed deep sorrow and grief, urging the federal government to take strict and immediate action against those involved in human trafficking.
Regarding transportation, the minister highlighted that new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for motor vehicle inspectors and vehicle fitness certification had been implemented as of December 1.
The initiative aims to ensure environmental protection and reduce the loss of valuable lives in traffic accidents. He emphasized that formulating policies to safeguard human lives is a government responsibility.
Under the new SOPs, fitness certificates with barcodes will be issued to curb counterfeit certifications. The issuance of fake certificates will no longer be possible. Motor vehicle inspectors are being further empowered, and old fitness certificates will now be invalid across Sindh, replaced by the new barcoded certifications.

The minister stated that efforts are being made to ensure road safety and vehicle fitness by collaborating with Sindh Police, Traffic Police, Motorway Police, and Highway Police. Additionally, an awareness campaign on road safety will be launched soon.
