In anticipation of severe monsoon rains forecasted by the Meteorological Department, the Sindh government has taken proactive steps to ensure public safety.
The decision to remove illegal and hazardous billboards has been mandated following approval from Chief Secretary of Sindh. This directive, issued by the General Administration Department, instructs Divisional Commissioner and Secretary of Municipalities to oversee the removal process.
The concern stems from potential risks posed by these billboards during heavy rains and strong winds. The safety hazards they present to human lives have prompted swift action. Aligning with this initiative, the Supreme Court has also emphasized the urgency of eliminating such risks across the province.
Efforts are underway to swiftly and effectively remove these billboards to mitigate any potential harm to the public. This preventive measure underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens as the monsoon season approaches.
