Karachi – Sindh Planning and Development Minister Mir Hazar Khan Bajrani and his wife were murdered mysteriously in their house in Defence area on Thursday.
Unknown culprits fired shots in the heads of the couple. Investigators say that according to the preliminary investigation, the incident seems to be suicide.
The police said that the employees informed the police when firing was heard from his bungalow. They have taken the shells and a pistol into custody from the room where the bodies were found. The room has been sealed.
The police have recorded the statements of four employees.
Meanwhile, the Crime Scene Unit officials have collected the evidence.
CTD In-charge Umar Khatab said that four shots were fired and a fire hit Mir Hazar Bijarani.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal and high-level officials have reached the house of the minister.
In 2013, Bijarani was elected from the PS-16 (Jacobabad-Kashmore). In 1988, he remained a federal minister in the cabinet of the late PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
In 1993, he was assigned the portfolio of Federal Minister for Health, Defence and Special Education. His wife Fareeha Razzaq was a former MPA and the PPP leader.
Meanwhile, the PPP has announced three-day mourning against the mysterious killing of Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani. The PPP has cancelled interviews for the Senate elections.
On the other hand, a shutdown was observed against the incident in the ancestral town of Bijarani and his wife in Thal city. The Kanrani tribe staged a protest demonstration. All shops were closed in Kashmore.
