The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday throughout the province on 2nd October, 2020 according to a notification issued by Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah.
The Public Holiday in Sindh has been announced in connection with the urs (death aniversery) of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai who was one of the greatest philosopher, saint and poet of the Sindhi language.
The Urs is held on the 14th day of the Islamic month of Safar and lasts for three days. However, this year it has been cancelled due to the rise in the number of coronavirus cases.
