KARACHI: A female Station House Officer (SHO) Sharafat Khan was attacked at Orangi Town Karachi along with other officers when they tried to stop residents from attending Friday prayer congregation.
A video of the incident shows a large crowd exiting the Mosque in violation of Section 144 place by the government during the coronavirus lockdown.
SHO Sharafat Khan can be seen with injuries to her face and telling another officer to make a video mentioning that they even broke her glasses.

According to reports, people leaving the mosque pelted stones at the police contingent and the situation came under control after another police contingent and ranger arrived.
As the coronavirus cases in Pakistan continue to rise, the government has banned congregational prayers in mosque allowing only a maximum of five people from offering prayers inside the mosque that includes the Imam and other staff.
There is also a complete ban on movement on Friday for this very reason from 12:00pm to 3:30pm which means everyone leaving the mosque were doing so against government orders.
The government is urging people to offer players inside and practice social distancing to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
