KARACHI: More than a dozen militants equipped with heavy weapons and grenades attacked Karachi airport on Sunday night, killing at least four security personnel.

The attack took place at terminal 1.
According to reports reaching here, miscreants entered from old terminal and started indiscriminate firing followed by grenades. At least four ASF ( Airport Security Force ) men have been killed in the attack.
Emergency has been declared at Karachi airport and all flights to Karachi have been diverted to Sukkur and Multan.
Heavy rangers, police deployment has been made at all entry and exit points of the Jinnah Terminal.
Heavy firing has resumed again after 10-minute silence.
Senior police officer Rao Anwar said gunmen are carrying heavy weapons. He said that a fuel depot caught fire after the attack.
According to Civil Aviation, flight operation has been suspended at the Karachi airport.
According to CA, six domestic flights and three international flights have been diverted and nine are delayed. One of the terrorists has been apprehended by law enforcement agencies a while ago.

Heavily armed militants tonight attacked Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan’s financial capital Karachi, wounding four security personnel.
A hand grenade attack was carried out on the Isphani Hanger at Jinnah International Airport’s old terminal, the Dawn reported. Four Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel were injured in the attack, it said. Police forces and Rangers have surrounded the airport and routes to the airport have been sealed. All flight operations at Jinnah Terminal have been suspended. Staff is being rescued by the security personnel and moved to safer areas, reports said, adding that rescue teams are being allowed after being checked thoroughly.
According to news reports coming in from Pakistan, seven gunmen have entered the terminal via Fokergate (old terminal) following Gunfire and explosions.
