HYDERABAD: In light of the recent alerts issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Sindh, the Deputy Commissioner of Hyderabad has declared a public holiday on 29th August 2024.
This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure due to the ongoing heavy monsoon rains affecting the district.
The public holiday will be observed in all public and private educational institutions within the territorial jurisdiction of District Hyderabad. Residents are strongly advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary movement to ensure safety and security during this period.
Authorities have emphasized that these measures are crucial for public safety and are urging citizens to comply with the advisory.
The Government of Sindh’s School Education & Literacy Department has issued a notification allowing district authorities to announce local holidays in schools in response to the ongoing heavy monsoon rains and flooding across various districts in Sindh.
