The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a heat wave alert in Karachi and directed the local authorities to make appropriate preparations. According to the PDMA, there is a heat wave expected in Karachi from 24 to 28 March, 2022.
The temperatures in the provincial capital are expected to rise and remain between 36 to 38 degrees centigrade from 24 to 28 March, while the concerned institutions and local administration have been directed to prepare for any possible situation in wake of the heat wave prediction and take appropriate measures to deal with it accordingly.
Furthermore, the humidity levels in Karachi will also rise along with the heat wave, which will make the weather feel more hotter than the actual temperature. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the humidity levels in the city will range from 30 to 40 percent in the evening.
It is pertinent to mention that PMD had issued a heat wave alert for the country on 15 March, stating that persistent high pressure in the upper atmosphere will likely cause high temperatures during the day throughout the country for the entire week.
