In a tragic incident, at least six policemen have been martyred in terrorist attack on their mobile van during routine patrol in District Lakki Marwat on Wednesday.
According to the details, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Dadiwala Police Station when the cops were conducting a routine patrol near a fair in the city when two terrorists opened fire on the vehicle.
The martyred personnel include ASI Ilm Deen, Detective Foot Constable Ahmed Nawaz, Lower Head Constable Zubair, Frontier Reserve Police’s sepoy Usman Ali, Constable Mahmood Khan, and driver Dil Jan.
The dead bodies were moved to a nearby hospital, while the police has initiated a search operation for the terrorist’s arrest.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed the terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat and paid tribute to the martyred policemen. “The nation salutes brave officers who have scarified their lives for their motherland.” the premier stated.

He urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government to provide the “Shuhada Package” to the families of the deceased policemen.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has strongly condemned the tragic incident and said that provincial government will not leave the bereaved families along in this difficult time.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah took notice of the incident and directed KP Chief Secretary Shehzad Bangash and Inspector-General of Police (IGP) KP Moazam Jah Ansari to submit a report.
