LAHORE: At least ten people have been killed and several others injured in road accidents caused due to smog in different areas of Punjab on Friday morning.
Three children were killed and several others sustained injuries when a speeding truck rammed into a rickshaw near Azam Chowk.
In another incident, two people were killed when a dumper turned turtle in Attock.
Meanwhile, a passenger van collided with a bus on Sheikhpura Road, killing five people and injuring several others.
In addition, five people were injured in a car accident in Shujabad whereas a truck carrying canola oil toppled on Khanewal –Multan road.
According to the Met office, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Foggy weather conditions are expected in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh. However, dense fog is likely to persist in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Gujranwala and Sahiwal divisions during the night and morning hours.
