In a tragic incident, at least 12 people were martyred and 53 others injured on Monday in a suicide blast that took place at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Kabul area of Swat District.
According to the details, some unidentified assailants opened fire fire during which a suicide bombing took place, which was followed by a second blast within seconds. As a result, several houses in the vicinity were damaged and the police station was completely destroyed.
A state of emergency has been declared at the Saidu Sharif Hospital, where the injured people have been shifted for treatment. Meanwhile, the 1122 Rescue officials are carrying out operations to get people out from under the building’s debris.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker Chief Minister, Muhammad Azam Khan, has condemned the blasts and offered his condolences to the families of the martyrs. He also directed concerned personnel to provide timely medical aid to the injured individuals.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also condemned the suicide blast the CTD police station in Swat and sought a report on the incident from concerned authorities. “The entire nation salutes the sacrifices of the martyrs. Security forces and the police will root out the menace of terrorism,” he added.
