The death toll from the Super Highway Karachi van fire incident that occurred last night has jumped to 15 after another injured victim from the tragic accident succumbed to his wounds.
The passenger was coming to Karachi from Hyderabad when the vehicle overturned almost 40km away from the toll plaza and caught fire taking lives of several people including children.

According to police, the passenger van was carrying 22 people out of which 15 have been reported dead so far. The driver of the vehicle and a one year old girl have miraculously survived.
The injured were shifted to Nooriabad Hospital while the dead bodies were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later transferred to Edhi Morgue for identification purpose.
There are also reports that five members of a family from Liaquatabad were killed in the Super Highway Karachi van fire incident and and according to relatives, there were three women and a child among the victims.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah have both taken notice of the incident and expressed their sorrow.
They have both directed authorities to facilitate the victims’ families and provide the best medical assistance to the injured.
