Unidentified armed men opened fire at the Karachi Police Chief’s office that is located on the port city’s main artery, Shahrah-e-Faisal, while explosions were also heard before the gunshots.
According to the details, at least two terrorists have been killed while four officials have been injured during the counter operations by police and Rangers.
Furthermore, at least one police officer has been martyred, while three civilians have been killed in the attack.
Meanwhile, an Edhi Foundation volunteer has suffered injured and shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
The attackers reportedly hurled hand grenades from the backyard of the police head office and later entered the four-story building.
Meanwhile, DIG South, Irfan Baloch, has told media that at least six terrorists were present inside the KPO building. Moreover, the police along with help of rangers were trying to kill or arrest the terrorists at the earliest.
Heavy contingents of police and Rangers reached the head office in a bid to counter the attackers. However, the exact number of the attackers and their positions in unknown.
Meanwhile, the residents in the area have taken to Twitter to upload videos of the incident.
