Tourists attacked by restaurant staff in Murree

There are videos and picture being circulated on social media showing tourists being attacked by a restaurant staff and management in Murree including beating up a man and his pregnant wife.

According to reports, the incident took place on September 12th, 2020 at Gloria Jeans in Murree where the restaurant staff beat up a man including this pregnant wife.

UPDATE: Case registered after tourist attacked at Gloria Jeans in Murree.

The video clearly shows the man shouting, “my wife is pregnant” while she was being physically abused by the hotel management where a crowd of people was gathered.

In another video we can clearly see a man beating up a female who can be heard screaming while others standing are trying to deescalate the situation. According to reports, the Gloria Jeans staff beat up the man and his pregnant wife because they used the premises washroom.

However, other reports suggest that it wasn’t the tourists who were attacked by restaurant staff in Murree but actually vice-versa with the owner of Gloria Jeans and his wife being beaten up by tourists for not being allowed to use the washroom.

This isn’t the first time such an incident has occurred at Murree as there have been many reports in the past where tourists have faced such appalling behavior from locals.

According to a Tweet by Rawalpindi Police, the incident did occur at Gloria Jeans and investigation is underway. The police has obtained CCTV footage and medical reports of tourists.
