US President Donald Trump arrived in India today on a two day trip at the Indian city of Ahmedabad. Addressing a rally with thousands of people, he said that United States has a very good relationship with Pakistan.
Trump is accompanied by his wife Melania and daughter Ivanka Trump and they arrived in the Indian city of Ahmedabad where crowds had gathered a head the US President’s first visit to the country.

Trump tweeted in Hindi a few hours before arriving to India saying:
We look forward to coming to India. We are on the way, we will meet everyone in a few hours!
The purpose of US President Trump’s visit is to improve relations between the two biggest democracies of the world that had been strained by trade spat.
Trump addressed a rally organized in Ahmedabad where the US president talked about the relationship with Pakistan and how the two countries have been working together to counter terrorism.
US President Trump said:
US and India are committed to stopping terrorists and fight their ideology. For this reason, since taking office, my administration is working in a very positive way with Pakistan to crack down on terrorist organisations and militants which operate on the Pakistani border,
He continued to talk about the relationship with Pakistan and progress in the future of stability in the region saying:
Our relationship with Pakistan is a very good one. Thanks to these efforts, we are beginning to see signs of big progress with Pakistan and we are hopeful for reduced tensions, greater stability and the future of harmony for all of the nations of South Asia,
More than a 100,000 people gathered at the largest cricket stadium in the world and was one of the biggest rally crowd that Trump addressed in his political career.
The rally was named “Nasmaste Trump” with people wearing white caps with the event name printed on them and some wearing caps that read ” Welcome Trump”.
Trump talked about how the US loves India and will always be good friends with the nation and even called Modi a “tremendously successful leader”.
He also talked about supplying India with military equipment ranging from drones, helicopters and even missile systems and mentioned US the US strikes on “radical Islamic extremists” to which the audience at the stadium cheered.
He talked about how the ISIS territorial caliphate was destroyed referring to the killing of Al Baghdadi.
Although US President Donald Trump did not talk about the Citizenship Amendment Act and the protests regarding the new law which fast tracks citizenship for those who entered India fleeing religious persecution but excludes Muslims.
Despite the United States and India being very close allies, their relationship was strained due to trade when the Trump administration imposed tariffs on Indian aluminium and steel with India responding by placing higher penalties on agriculture goods and restrictions on US medical devices. However, things got worse as US removed India from the trade preferential program that the country had been on for decades.
However according to social media, at one point, huge crowd started to leave the Stadium where the rally was held but for now there is no news about what might have caused them to leave.
