The UAE’s Ministry of Defence, through its Joint Operations Command, has unveiled a significant initiative involving the construction of three desalination plants in Rafah, Gaza Strip, as part of the ‘Gallant Knight 3’ humanitarian operation.
This move, in accordance with the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, underscores the commitment of ‘Gallant Knight 3’ to providing crucial assistance to the Palestinian people. The three desalination plants are poised to produce 200,000 gallons each per day, collectively contributing 600,000 gallons, ultimately benefiting around 300,000 individuals on a daily basis.
This ambitious project reflects the UAE’s steadfast dedication to supporting and expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially in the face of the challenging circumstances they currently endure.
Initiated on November 5th, ‘Gallant Knight 3’ operates under the guidance of the Joint Operations Command at the Ministry of Defence. Collaboration with key entities such as the Emirates Red Crescent, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the Zayed Charitable Humanitarian Foundation, and various other UAE institutions highlights the collective effort to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine in Gaza.
Moreover, the initiative opens doors for medical professionals registered with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Department of Health Abu Dhabi. Volunteers associated with the Emirates Red Crescent and other humanitarian and charitable organizations in the UAE are also encouraged to participate in this noble cause.
