Police find valuables of Lahore motorway gang rape victim

LAHORE: Police have found some valuables that were looted from the Lahore motorway gang rape victim while she was traveling to Gujranwala on Wednesday.

The woman, whose identity is being kept private was traveling from Lahore to Gujranwala on Wednesday along with her children when her car broke down stranded her on the road.

After being denied assistance from motorway police, the woman was waiting for help from a family member when she was spotted by unknown assailants who forced the woman and children out of the vehicle.

The culprits took the woman and her children to a nearby field where the woman was gang raped in front of her children and then robbed of her valuables by the assailants who fled the scene immediately.

Some of the valuables belonging to the Lahore motorway gang rape victim were recovered by the police from the field and this included a gold ring however, the attackers also robbed her of Rs. 100,000 cash which has not been recovered.

It is pertinent to mention that the medical examination of the woman proved her accusation of the gang rape at Lahore motorway after which a case was registered on the complaint of a family member.

Investigation on the Lahore motorway gang rape incident is on-going and police have arrested at least 14 suspects according to sources while 20 teams of Lahore police and CIA have been constituted to catch the culprits responsible and bring justice.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also took notice of the Lahore motorway gang rape incident along with other recent cases and ordered that culprits involved be brought to justice as soon as possible.
