Pakistani veteran actor and senior artist Sohail Asghar has passed away on Saturday (13 November 2021) at Bahria Town in Lahore after suffering from prolonged illness.
Sohail Asghar had been ill for some time and underwent gastric surgery after which his health deteriorated. The actor’s family has confirmed the news of his passing and his funeral prayers will be held in Bahria Town on 14 November 2021 after Asr Prayers.
The legendary actor was born in Lahore, where he completed his education and joined Radio Pakistan. He also worked as a Radio Jockey from 1978 to 1988. Later on, he moved to work in the TV drama Raat on PTV and made his silver screen debut with the movie ‘Murad’ in 2003.
Sohail Asghar also received an award for outstanding performance at 1st Indus Drama Awards for the movie ‘Murad’ and best actor award for the year 2002 at the 12th PTV Awards.
The deceased actor had worked in some popular drama serials, including Khafa Khafa Zindagi (2018), Teri Meri Love Story (2016), Aap ki Kaneez (2014), Aashti (2009), Laag (TV series) as Kaku Lala (1998), Khwahish as Ruliya, Piyas, Chand Grehn, Kajal Ghar and Khuda Ki Basti.
