Weather Alert: PMD Predicts More Rain, Thunderstorms, and Hailstorms

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted unstable weather with rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in certain areas within the next day. They expect these weather conditions in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. The PMD also mentioned the possibility of hailstorms in some places.

In the past 24 hours, there were rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper/central Punjab. Additionally, hailstorms were observed in a few areas such as the Pothohar region, Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Here are the recorded rainfall amounts (in millimeters): In Kashmir, Rawalakot received 76 millimeters, Kotli 46 millimeters, and Garhi Dupatta 37 millimeters. In Gilgit-Baltistan, Astore received 49 millimeters, Chilas 31 millimeters, and Bagrote 21 millimeters. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Saidu Sharif received 49 millimeters, Kalam 31 millimeters, and Balakot 26 millimeters. In Punjab, Jhelum received 38 millimeters, Murree 31 millimeters, and Mandi Bahauddin 26 millimeters.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded today were in Mithi and Shaheed Benazirabad at 41 degrees Celsius, while Dadu, Hyderabad, and Karachi recorded temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius.

Overall, the PMD warned of upcoming rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in specific regions and noted the occurrences of such weather in the past 24 hours along with recorded rainfall amounts and temperature highs for the day.
