WEATHER UPDATE: The overnight heavy rains and cloudburst in Islamabad has caused massive urban flooding in different areas, especially in sector E-11, which caused the death of a child and his mother.
According to the police officials, the two causalities took place at a house in sector E-11/2 after flood water entered the basement of the premises at night and drowned the mother and her child.
The officials said that the severe urban flooding in sector E-11 was due to poor management of private housing schemes, adding that no equipment was available to deal with such a situation.
“Cloudburst in Islamabad has caused flooding in various areas. Teams are clearing nullahs/roads. Hopefully we will be able to clear everything in an hour.” said Islamabad Deputy Commissioner this morning on Twitter.
