Karachi is expected to received up to 100mm of rain today (Saturday) with the new monsoon spell according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The Director of the Pakistan Meteorological Department said that that parts of Karachi will receive heavy to moderate rain today with the new monsoon spell lasting until Tuesday with intermittent showers.

The heavy rain in parts of the port city may cause urban flooding and and even power outages severely impacting the residents especially in low lying areas despite the recent clean up process.
Previously, Karachi rain spell on Friday reportedly caused massive urban flooding in some areas including Surjani Town, North Karachi, Orangi and other adjoining areas.
Several people have lost their lives in rain related incidents like electrocution. According to sources, two teenagers lost their lives when they were hit by lightning in Memon Goth while two others were electrocuted. One teenager was reportedly swept away due to heavy currents of the surging Lyari River.
Rain in also expected in Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Tharparker, Mirpurkhas, Umar Kot, Sanghar, Sukkur, Larkana, Lasbella, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Zhob, Musa Khel, Loralai, Kohlu and Sibbi from Friday to Monday..
