The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Punjab has issued a weather alert about upcoming rain starting on April 23, urging everyone to be prepared and cautions in order to avoid any untoward incident.
The PDMA says light rain will start in Upper Punjab on April 23, with heavier rain and hail expected from April 26 to 29. They’re especially concerned for farmers who are told to harvest their wheat crops because of the weather.
The head of PDMA, Irfan Ali Kathia, said that concerned authorities must stay alert, following orders from the Chief Minister. They have informed district leaders about the changing weather to allow them to prepare for the heavy rainfall.
The PDMA is actively monitoring the situation, knowing the next ten days are crucial for rescue teams and district leaders. They are working hard to lessen the damage from storms and rain. They are also fixing drainage in low areas to stop flooding.
Kathia says it is important for people to know about climate change and stay safe during storms. They have advised people to stay away from electric poles and wires during bad weather conditions. They hope these actions will save lives and make the bad weather less harmful for everyone in Punjab.
