The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned citizens to prepare for heavy rains anticipated from March 5 to March 7, with potential flash floods, snow blockages, and landslides across the country.
Regions most likely affected include Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Upper and Southern Punjab, and Balochistan. While cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, Sindh will remain under the grip of a severe cold wave.
Temperatures are forecasted to drop significantly, with Karachi experiencing temperatures as low as 11.1°C, which is 8.3°C below the usual March average of 19.4°C. Recent heavy rainfall has already claimed over 30 lives and led to the closure of thousands of schools due to adverse weather conditions.
Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate the potential risks associated with the upcoming spell of heavy rains.
