A woman was gang-raped at a Lahore hotel near Railway Station within the Jurisdiction of the Nolakha police station by two men who lured her there after promising her a job.
According to the police, the accused have been identified as Hassan and Irfan and an investigation has been launched into the matter with efforts underway to arrest the accused as soon as possible.
The suspects reportedly called the woman promising her a job and forcefully took the woman to the hotel room where she was gang-raped by the individuals at the Lahore hotel
Inspector General of Punjab Police has also taken notice of the incident and directed the Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) to submit a detailed report on the matter within 24 hours.
Many such incidents have taken place since last month following the Lahore motorway incident where a woman was subjected to gang-rape in front of her children when her car broke down while traveling to Gujranwala.
Violence against woman and children have surged recently across the country while those responsible for the protection for citizens remain busy victim blaming such as Lahore CCPO Umar Sheikh.
The Lahore CCPO has received a lot of criticism after his victim blaming statements and also apologized to the woman for questioning why she left home at night but he remained consistent with his belief and later questioned if she travelled after taking her husband’s permission.
However, another incident took place in Ferozewala where a wife was gang-raped in front of her husband at gunpoint while the couple was traveling and having her spouse along did not protect her from from the tragic incident.
Yesterday, a gang rape incident was reported near Lahore at Nankana Sahib involving a woman who was drugged and sexually abused by six men after she was offered a ride while she was waiting for transport.
