ISLAMABAD: The Zilhaj moon visible today (July 22) will be a day old according to the Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry.
According to the Federal Minister who told private media channels, the Zilhaj moon was born on 21 July 2020 at 10:33 and the ministry’s Ruet App shows the exact location of the moon.
However, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee said that the Zilhaj moon was not spotted and Eid-ul-Azha 2020 will be celebrated on 1 August 202 but Fawad Chaudhry argues that how would it be possible to spot the moon when it was covered by clouds.

Fawad Chaudhry said that its time that we use the latest technology to figure out the exact location of the moon and end this confusing regarding the moon sighting.
This has been a long standing fued between the Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry and the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. The same argument took place on Eid-ul-Fitr earlier this year when Fawad Chaudhry had already given a final date for the moon sighting but the Ruet Committee did not sight the moon.
However later, Fawad Chaudhry turned out to be right as the moon was ended up being sighted and Pakistan celebrated Eid with Saudi Arabia.
In other news, Fawad Chaudhry has opposed the courts and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on banning internet apps and services and asked them to stop moral policing the public.
