Congratulations to Mountaineer Samina Baig & her brother Mirza Ali to scale Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain with a peak at 8,848 metres.
Samina has become the first Pakistani woman to scale Mount Everest and Mirza Ali is the third and youngest Pakistani male to scale the mountain on Sunday, 19th May, 2013. Samina Baig, who is from Gilgit Baltistan is the first woman mountaineer of Pakistan who along with her brother Mirza Ali conquered the highest mountain, “Mount Everest” 8,848 meter.
She was the first to climb the peak Chashkin Sar (above 6,000 meters) in 2010, which was later renamed after her. She reached the summit of ‘Koh-i-Brobar’ (‘Mount Equality’) in 2011. Samina Baig is from Two hundred kilometres away from Hunza, and 3,300 metres above sea level, from a small town known as Shimshal, home to 2,000 residents out of which one is 18-year-old Samina Khayal Baig.
