Pakistan won the match against Nepal by 238 runs in the first match of the Asia Cup 2023, which officially kicked off on Wednesday with Pakistan vs Nepal at the Multan Cricket Stadium
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first, which allowed them to post a massive total of 342-6 in 50 overs.
Ahmed remained unbeaten with 109 runs off 71 balls and he was able to score 11 fours and four sixes.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam was able to score 151 runs off 131 balls with 14 fours and four sixes before being dismissed.
He was also able to break South African batter Hashim Amla’s record of the fastest player to 19 ODI centuries.
Mohammad Rizwan also managed to score 44 runs off 50 balls in a partnership with Rizwan.
Despite early collapse of two wickets, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed managed to recover the game and score a total of 342-6 in 50 overs.
In the second innings, Pakistan continued their excellent form after their clean sweep against Afghanistan in Sri Lanka.
Shadab Khan took four wickets for his side for just 27 runs, while Shaheen Shah Afridi managed to sent two Nepali batters back to the pavilion.
