The gesture of the Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo caused Cola-Cola $4 billion in loss as the company’s shares fell after the footballer removed the Euro 2020’s sponsored drink during the press conference.
Cristiano Ronaldo removed two bottles of Coca-Cola while speaking at a press conference ahead of representing his country at the group stage match against Hungary, which apparently cost the company $4 billion fall in the share price from $56.10 to $55.22.
The football star then moved forward by promoting drinking water instead of the soft-drink by holding up a water bottle and saying “Agua [water].”
It bears mentioning that Cristiano Ronaldo has previously mentioned his dislike for sugary soft drinks such as Coca-Cola, which allows him to remain in excellent physical condition.
The soccer star also does not allow his eldest son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. to consume such products. I’m hard with him sometimes because he drinks Coca-Cola and Fanta sometimes and I’m angry with him,” admitted Ronaldo.
