India beat Australia by six wickets with 52 balls remaining in the fifth match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.
The blue shirts struggled with their batting line up at the start of the second innings as they lost three wickets in the first two overs.
However, Viral Kohli and KL Rahul managed to change the odds as the two batters built a matching winning 165-run partnership.
Individually, Virat Kohli managed 85 runs off 116 balls, while KL Rahul scored 97 runs off 115 balls.
Earlier, Australia were restricted to just 199 runs courtesy of Indian spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav.
The two spinners shared a combined five wickets between them with Jadeja picking three and Yadav getting two to his name.
Meanwhile, all Indian bowlers managed at least one wicket each.
