India defeated South Africa by 243 runs in the 37th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.
South Africa failed to bat against India and lost one wicket after another.
The Proteas lost five wickets for just 40 runs in 13.1 overs and the game was pretty much over by that time.
South Africa only managed to reach 83 runs before all the batters were dismissed and the team suffered their biggest defeat of this World Cup.
Batting first, India managed to set a target of 327 runs with opener Rohit Sharma scoring 40 runs from just 24 balls, giving team blue a perfect start to the innings.
However, Shubman Gill was only able to score 23 runs off 24 balls, but Virat Kohli made up for it with 101 runs from 121 balls, while Shreyas Iyer managed to add 77 runs from 87 balls.
Rahul was dismissed for 8 runs, but Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja managed to add 22 and 29 runs, allowing for India to set a good target for South Africa.
