New Zealand defeated Netherlands with a 99-run win in the sixth match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday.
The Kiwis defeated the Dutch in one-sided contest courtesy of Mitchell Santner’s performance.
Netherlands was off to a bad start as openers Vikramjti Singh and Max O’Dowd lost wickets early in the game with a score of just 12 and 16 runs, respectively.
Despite middle-order batter Colin Ackermann providing his team a much-needed breakthrough with a score of 69 runs off 73 balls, the Dutch were unable to achieve the target score of 323 runs.
Skipper and wicketkeeper-batter Scott Edwards was the second top-scorer for New Zealand with 30 runs.
Earlier, New Zealand’s Devon Conway, Will Young, Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell and skipper Tom Latham all contributed considerable runs to allow their side to set a target of 323 runs.
