India recorded a seven-wicket win against Pakistan as the two arch-rivals went head to head in the 12th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
Rohit Sharma was the top-scorer against Pakistan with 86 runs off 63 balls, while Shreyas Iyer contributed 53 runs, becoming the second top-scorer.
India was able to reach the 192-run target in just 31 overs and recorded their eighth win in as many matches against Pakistan in ICC World Cup history.
With the exception of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who individually scored 50 and 49 runs, respectively, the rest of the batters did not show any significant resistance with the bat as they returned to the pavilion very soon.
However, Abdullah Shafique and Imam ul Haq were still able to add 20 and 36 runs, respectively.
India has won three out of three matches in the World Cup 2023 and their next match is taking place against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19.
Meanwhile, Pakistan goes up against Australia in Bengaluru on October 20.
