Pakistan’s cricket team suffered a setback as key all-rounder Imad Wasim has been ruled out of the opening match against the United States in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Skipper Babar Azam confirmed Imad’s unavailability, stating that the all-rounder will rest due to a side strain. “Due to muscle strain, Imad will not be available for the first match,” Babar said.
Despite this setback, the skipper remains hopeful about Wasim’s participation in the remaining matches of the tournament.
The Men in Green are set to kickstart their World Cup campaign against the US on June 6 (Thursday).
The US team earlier won their opener against Canada in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
