Team India is going back home having been knocked out of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup as New Zealand beats Afghanistan, joining Pakistan in the semi-final of the tournament.
It bears mentioning that this is the third time Team New Zealand have qualified for the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup while India has failed to reach the knockout stage for the fourth time.
The black caps gave an exceptional performance in the field as they were able to hold Afghanistan 124-8, a score New Zealand was easily able to reach in the second innings by eight wickets with 11 balls remaining.
The win puts New Zealand at the top of the group table but Pakistan will retake the position if they win their final match against Scotland today. It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has qualified to the semi-final and will take on Australia in the knockout stage. Meanwhile, the Black Caps will likely meet England in the semi-final.
India will now play their final group match against Namibia on Monday, however, the team will not be able to qualify to the semi-final even if they win their final group game.
