The development comes a day after Islamabad United teased the announcement for their head coach on X (formerly Twitter). Mike Hesson will take over Azhar Mahmood, who acted as head coach during the previous PSL season.
Islamabad United is one of the only two teams to have won PSL twice with reigning champions Lahore Qalandars being the other team. However, Islamabad United were knocked out during the Eliminator round of the PSL 8 last year.
The PSL draft is expected to take place in December 2023, however, the exact date is yet to be announced. Furthermore, the tournament will take place from February 2024 as usual, but it is likely to commence after the February 8’s General Elections.
